Pence England
will
present "Spousal Maintenance and Alimony" What They Are and
What They Aren't" to the 2007 University of Texas's Family
Law on the Front Lines in Galveston, Texas this June.
Ana Galvan and Karen
Howard participated at
the Family Law Conference sponsored by South Texas College of Law, February 7-8,
2007. Ana will moderate a panel of paralegals, including Karen Howard,
discussing board certification of paralegals. They have both been board
certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specializaton since
1998. Karen will also present on the important role of paralegals in the
collaborative law process.
They were joined by Angela
Pence England
and Harry L. Tindall, also presented at the South
Texas Family Law Conference. Angela provided a "Family Law Legislative
Update," discussing legislation proposed for the 2007 session. Harry spoke on the characterization of retirement assets and other employee
benefits.
Angela Pence
England presented at the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas's Spring
Retreat on March 7-8, 2007. She discussed the necessary tools that the
professionals need when collaborating using the multi-disciplinary team
approach.
Harry L. Tindall, along with professor Jack Sampson, served as Co-Chair of the
upcoming 1st Annual Parenting Plan Conference. This conference, sponsored
by the University of Texas School of Law, was held in Dallas on October 13, 2006
and in Houston on November 3, 2006. Plans are already underway for the
2007 conference.
Angela Pence England participated in a live webcast with fellow family law attorney,
Wendy S. Burgower, presented by the State Bar of Texas.
The webcast was a comprehensive discussion on the new parenting
plan statutes in the Texas Family Code on May 24, 2006.

Tindall delivered comments
regarding the Hague Convention on Family Support at a U.S. Department of State
briefing on April 20, 2006, in Tyson's Corner, Maryland.
Angela
Pence England was a
featured presented at the Financial Planning Association of Dallas/Fort Worth's
North Texas Financial Planning Symposium in May 2006. Her remarks
included a discussion of the financial planner's role in a divorce, as well as
the statutory changes of 2005 involving the characterization of employee
benefits and the tax effecting of property divisions in divorce
cases.
